Understand what CertiPUR-US certification covers and what it does not prove about a complete mattress.
CertiPUR-US is a certification program for flexible polyurethane foam used in bedding and upholstered furniture. It concerns the foam, not an all-purpose certification of every component or every performance claim made about a mattress.
Why the distinction matters
Do not use a foam certification as a substitute for checking fire-barrier materials, comfort, support, durability or the complete product's construction. Layla states that the foams in its Essential are CertiPUR-US certified.
